Pavilion Style Design focusing on the 180° water views whilst maximising Sunlight.
This Contemporary Design combines a pavilion style ground floor with a classical form first floor to create a unique and modern look. The bright and sunny open floor plan takes full advantage of the 180° view that spans from Tiger head bluff across Frederick Henry Bay to Kunanyi. The long and thin building footprint that runs along the contours of the steep site (East to West) not only minimises excavation costs but also maximises the opportunity for north/south windows, allowing for natural light and ventilation throughout the home.
The Pavilion style ground floor utilises floor to ceiling windows in the open floor plan to maximise the views to the south, while also optimising sun exposure towards the North. The first floor features a contemporary gable roof with eave and blade wall projections, providing shelter from the elements on the private deck and directing the occupants’ gaze towards the breathtaking view.
The house is clad in hardy materials that require little maintenance, providing durability and practicality. The colour scheme uses dark, neutral tones with matte finishes to ensure the building does not stand out and diminish the aesthetic of the hillside, instead blending seamlessly into its natural surroundings.
Overall, this architecturally designed house offers a unique and modern design with practical and functional features that complement the steep site and stunning natural views.
We are absolutely thrilled with our new home thanks to JJJDwyer Design! From the first time we met, we realised JJJDwyer Design was the sort of Designer we wanted to work with, as Jeremiah keenly listened whilst we explained our vision and our constraints. From there he worked his magic!
JJJDwyer Designers were very helpful, shared new and modern ideas had excellent communication, answered our silly questions with patience, and made the whole process a breeze.
We highly recommend JJJD Design to anyone looking to build their dream home.
